Sibyl: The Magic Isn’t Real 12″ (blue)

sibyl000

Woah! Just listen to those vocals on this twelve-inch record and you’ll understand why I have purchased this beauty. Strong psychedelic vibes on this doomed release by the band I haven’t heard of before, Sibyl . This release has been on heavy rotation lately and the only minus about this release is that it’s way too short. I want more! Thanks to DHU Records for introducing Sibyl and most of all, releasing “The Magic Isn’t Real” on vinyl. Still available from the source, DHU Records.

Midnight Gallows: Attack Warning Red LP (blue/orange mix)

mignight

Some freaking filthy stoner/doom from Canada by Midnight Gallows with their album titled Attack Warning Red. Surprise, I like this album a lot. I can’t remember how I found this band & album, was it some tip from another sludge/stoner/doom fan or did I just come across with it while surfing around BandCamp? Who knows. Although the album is filled with heavy riffs, dirty, doomed stoner / sludge there are also some moments of beauty hidden beyond all this crease & filth. Highly recommended vinyl release and you can get a copy (ltd.200) via Wasted Wax Records or straight from the band!

Vestjysk Ørken: Full Dark No Stars LP (black)

vestjysk000

In my teens, it was quite common to buy a record from the record store just on the basis of cover art. Have to admit that it wasn’t the best way to choose your purchase. Today, those basics have changed a bit but if the band releases an album titled “Full Dark, No Stars” ..I’m sold. Only this time the title sums up the whole record perfectly. Vestjysk Ørken manages to create a very gloomy worldview with their psychedelic Instrumental space rock. Brilliant album and still available via Interstellar Smoke Records!

Pink Cigs: Pink Cigs LP (blue/mustard)

00_pink

Time for some hard-hitting bluesy stoner rock from the UK. I would have missed this record but luckily, I came across it via BandCamp while browsing here and there looking for some new music. The first time I noticed this band earlier this year via Facebook’s Doomed & Stoned group, but somehow I managed to forget the whole album. Luckily, it’s now here in my hairy hands, sending sweets sounds to my eardrums. Pink Cigs self-released debut album is sold out from the band’s BandCamp site but don’t worry because Bear Tree Records still have copies for waiting for you!

Spacegoat: Superstition LP (purple)

spacegoat

Ha, here’s some groovy stoner/doom from Mexico. I don’t remember exactly how I came across this record now but listening to one song through BandCamp was enough to make a purchase decision. I completely fell in love with the vocals on this album. Been listening to quite heavy stuff lately so maybe I just needed some beauty these darkening days. very enjoyable record this is and if you are interested then head to Tasty Odds, they still got this one available. Recommended!

Forming The Void: Reverie LP (white/purple)

void

Have to admit that I nearly missed this one, Forming The Void and their latest bone crushing heavy masterpiece “Reverie”. For me this band is brand new, never before have I listened to any of their records. The error has been corrected and learned from. Two more records added to my wantlist (previous vinyl Releases). One of my favorite records during this year. Strictly speaking, I dig every record I own, all of them have earned a place on my shelf. Check this one out if you haven’t already. Ripple Music seems to have 1 copy of this variant available on their BandCamp site (if you fancy these limited, colored ones). Regular copies available via Ripple’s US / EU store.

Son Of A Witch: Commanded by Cosmic Forces LP +CD (gold/black)

sonof

This is one of those albums that I have been waiting for quite some time and finally Kozmik Artifactz brought it to daylight. In 2016, I fell in love with the band’s debut album “Thrones In The Sky” and I think it took an unacceptably long time, four years, from this Brazilian band to put out new material. Time to ventilate the ear canals with this crushing beauty. Still available from the source, Kozmik Atifactz.

Psychlona: Venus Skytrip LP (blue)

psychlona

Got this latest from Psychlona from Cursed Tongue Records a few weeks ago. Now that I’ve been listening to it numerous times, I have come to the conclusion that I’m a complete idiot because I skipped their debut album two years ago.. Well, one record more added to my wantlist. Groovy, fuzzed space/stoner/psych and there’s no reason not to like this one. Awesome release from start to the very end. Deep bow in the direction of CTR, once again you have managed to release an outstanding package!

Since this record was released in collaboration with Ripple Music, Us customers can grab the red-colored variation (ltd. 100) directly from Ripple Music. EU customers can still grab the translucent orange version for example from Stickman Records, the blue version is sold out by now.

Wolftooth: Valhalla LP (white)

wolftooth000

Cursed Tongue Records released this latest from Wolftooth about three months ago. I remember promising myself after their previous album that I’m not going to miss their possible upcoming album in the future, I didn’t. The thing is that this record is pure Heavy Metal from first to last note. Old school metal that has nearly nothing to do with the word “stoner”, and that’s fine! These gentlemen know what they are doing and I’m enjoying the result. The awesome package overall, thanks to CTR for releasing quality records one after the other! Sold out from the source but Kozmik Artifactz still has some blue variants available, hurry!

Arteaga: Vol II Dios Sol LP (pink) + 7″

arteaga1000

Some psychedelic stoner/doom from South America, Chile. Alltough I have no idea what is being sung on this record, I don’t actually care. This is a groovy, catchy fuzzed stoner vibes filled record and that’s enough for me. It’s nice to see bands like Arteaga taking their places within this scene. I’m more than happy finding these new (for me new..) stoner outfits stepping out of the shadows. Available from Interstellar Smoke Records. Expand your mind listening to Vol II Dios Sol!

The Goners: Good Mourning LP (blue/white with black splatter)

gonersXX

And then some Swedish knowledge… This is the debut album by The Goners (well, we all know that these dudes have been in scene some time but that’s a different story). Garage, hard rock..? Who am I to say what’s the best genre to place this album, main point after all is those tunes engraved in the grooves of this nice looking vinyl release. Rock’n’Roll at it’s best. Available via RidingEasy (US), (EU) and for example from Kozmik Artifactz.

LáGoon: Maa Kali Trip 12″ (orange/black)

00_goon

Uuhh.. This band and their latest release “Maa Kali Trip” is some kind of twisted spawn of garage/surf/stoner band from hell playing disturbed hits from the underground.. or something like that. And it sounds brilliant! I know I will get rid of unwanted guests at the next barbecue party when I put this record on my turntable with max volume! Let’s take a trip with LáGoon! Available from the source, Interstellar Smoke Records. Recommended!
