And some experimental metal. One of many treasures that came via post today. Portal and new album Vexovoid.. this is record that you do not want to listen when lights go out. Last album was awesome, and this is amazing (if you like to listen experimental black/death metal). No clue about limitations (if there are any) but you can purchase this from Profound Lore Records, there are black and colored versions available if any one is interested.
This came today. Latest repress of this record, done by Earache (surprise). Decided to buy this because I’m not ready to pay 50-100 euros of original. This color is limited to 200 copies and sold out from the source. Excellent album. Only problem is that companies send these records shrinkwrapped and below you can see what vinyl record does to album cover… f*ck.. They should send cover and record separated. Shrinkwrapped albums are, in my opinion, idiotic because you get […]
And here’s something little harder. Bought this suddenly, I didn’t even know anything about these bands. Well, not bad at all, if some one would ask me. This is limited to 111 black copies, there’s also grey copies floating around but I have no idea of limitation.
This one I bought purely because of Disma. Nice death metal band, and I’m still waiting for their debut album to be released on vinyl. This is limited to 500 copies on black vinyl and there is also 500 picture discs. You can purchase this from HR Records (picture one).
I know I should restrain my LP hoarding.. Bought black vinyl version of this record from Denovali few years ago. Love this old school death/doom band. Limited to 100 copies re-black splatter, 150 copies on gold (Die Hard edition) and 400 copies on black vinyl. Last year this album was repressed on black vinyl (again) and 300 copies on black/white split vinyl with black and white cover. This album should be easy to find because of 2nd edition. I included […]
This one I bought just because of Hooded Menace, I’m not that big fan of Horse Latitudes (it ain’t bad but I haven’t listened band so much.. yet). This is limited to 500 copies, coated by fake leather, with hot foil stamping. There’s also repress of this record (limited also to 500 copies but cover material is different). At least second press is available from MusicFearSatan.
What could I say? This goes straight to genre “Those records I had when I was teenager”. Bought this one from second-hand record store few years ago. I had this awesome record back then.. sold it and now bought it back. I’m in love with these “old” doom/death metal.
I remember when I first heard Black September’s “Tyrants”. This may not be “cup of tea” for everyone but for me certainly is. Death metal and I nearly can hear some distant echoes of black metal somewhere beyond. Overall excellent album. Available from Shaman Records, or just use google to find this cheaper from somewhere else.
Xysma was pioneer of Finnish grindcore and death metal. Svart Records released this album (released 1993 on cd format) first time on vinyl in 2010. Xysma started as a grindcore/death metal band, transformed to Death and Roll just to move to Retro Rock. Excellent example of band that did not stuck but adapted its whole existence. There are 300 copies on clear and 300 copies on black vinyl. Clear version available from Floga Records (few copies left).
This also cane today, ordered this from Nuclear War Now! and seems that they have this and what’s great; They have 25% off on entire NWN distro till the end of the year. This is limiteddiehardedition of this vinyl. There’s no info how many they have pressed but so what, in the end it’s just music. And this sounds BRUTAL! Buy and cry!
This also arrived today. Great death metal band and still I’m waiting for vinyl version of their awesome album “Towards The Megalith”. Even though this is 12″ ep, I’m happy with this, now. Vinyl edition of this is 100 copies on clear/red haze vinyl and 900 copies on red vinyl. Red one is still available from Iron Bonehead and Nuclear War Now!
Limited to 1000 copies. You can find this treasure from Discogs but you might need some extra money if you really want this. I bought this years ago when I went to see them live. Great band and I’m still hoping this band would release some new material.. someday
Suddenly I found this from random record store on my way to see my mom. I thought that I’ll order this from US but shipping cost were too high and now I paid only 21 euros of this absolutely astonishing album. Singer wears cuckoo clock as mask, that cannot be bad thing :) Excellent album. CD was released 2009 and the vinyl saw light at 2011. There is 1000 copies floating around, so there might be one for you too.
I heard this band first time about 11 months ago and I remember thinking of purchasing this but somehow I forget it. Found this band again and luckily managed to snag copy of this magnificent album :) 600 pressed, 300 on white and 300 on black vinyl.
And we all know that there ain’t Death Metal band like Death. “Spiritual Healing” and “Leprosy”, these albums altered my perception about metal music 22 years ago. Damn I sold my copy of “Leprosy” years ago. Must get it back, sooner or later. Rest in peace, Chuck. Your legacy will live forever, no doubt about it.
Once again I have to admit that I totally missed when these came out (it was period of my life that was filled with indie pop.. ) Unopened packages, limited to 250 copies of this color (I have these on cd also, no need to open these..yet :D ) Thanks to Metal Blade for re-issuing these. Everyone should try Bolt thrower, even a little.
Great album indeed, breathtaking and furious. I like, and so should YOU! In this case I didn’t get my hands on colored vinyl, why? because ordering those from abroad would have cost me too much.. :( So I have to manage with regular vinyl this time (as so many other times too).
