Woahh.. Yet another South American band, this time we are talking about Argentine duo Serpent Cobra and their debut album “Anatomy Of Abuses”. I came across this album via Interstellar Smoke Recordings while I was checking out their webshop. Little do I know about this band, I just let the music speak for itself. Nice one, different, and surely deserves a place in my collection Available via Interstellar Smoke Records.
And then some 70’s influenced love, this time from Cursed Tongue Records. Once again outstanding package but what else can be expected from this label? The Band is Sleepwulf and this seems to be their debut release on vinyl format. Hard-hitting 70’s rock with a hint of doom aside, with this concept you just can’t go wrong. It seems that this sold out quite fast but don’t worry, there’s repress copies available via Cursed Tongue Records and Kozmik Artifactz. Go […]
Look what I got here, latest from Dopelord! Few years back I purchased their previous one “Children Of The Haze”, beautifull album by this doomed stoner-outfit from Poland. Now I got their latest one here with me, and I couldn’t be happier. Freaking awesome album and still available from Green Plague Records. This clear variation (limited to 150 copies) is sold out by now but you can still get your hands on that regular black wax. One of my favorite […]
Well, it took a little longer to purchase this one than I thought. That mistake has been taken care of now. I bought this blue version (even though in the picture it looks like regular black version) from Lay Bare Recordings. Döömed psychedelic/space/stoner is the thing here with this release. I have never had that much of fate for Finnish stoner/doom (or metal) genres overall but obviously, something is happening… At least between my ears. Great record this surely is. […]
uuuhh.. Yet another great release from DHU, this time full-length from Black Road. This Chicago based band has managed to sneak into my heart & record collection quite easily. Few years back Dark Hedonistic Union released Black Road’s twelve-inch EP and I’ve been waiting since that release new material from the band (managed somehow to skip their 7″ inch, shame on me). Bluesy, heavy, fuzzed stoner with Suzi’s hypnotizing voice. Timeless beauty this surely is. Vinyl versions of this album […]
I almost skipped this little treasure when it still was available (actually I just had some issues with my budget at that time). Fortunately, I came to my senses and decided to invest my pennies in what I love. These guys from Canada have stolen my heart with their southern influenced, stoner fueled rock ‘n’ roll. The band sounds awesome and like so many times before Cursed Tongue Records have managed to release an outstanding record. This variant is long […]
Don’t know if the band called Lurk say anything to anyone but here’s their latest album, Fringe. Have to admit that there’s only handful of domestic bands I follow nowadays, and Lurk wasn’t included until now. Years ago I bought Lurk’s debut album from their drummer (we worked under the same employer back then, as well as singer of Coughdust, guitarist of Korpiklaani etc.). Anyways, missed few of their previous records but few months ago I came across with this […]
Easily one of the best albums released this year and that’s my opinion. Been listening this a lot recently (mostly from the tape I purchased earlier, just wanna save the vinyl later you know). Doomed this album is and those vocals.. I’m in heaven. Beautiful release from one of my favourite labels, Dark Hedonistic Union Records (DHU). Now that I’m under the spell of Haunted I have to dig out that debut album from my record rack. This color variation […]
Pre-ordered his from Black Farm Records on April, finally it’s here (manufacturing this had numerous problems during the way). Bought this on cassette too because I just couldn’t wait vinyl version. Doomed stoner with obvious elements from grunge (or am I having some problems with my hearing?). This green colored vinyl is limited to 120 copies and there’s still white colored (limited to 180 copies) available from the label, Black Farm Records. Nice one, like a lot.
Yeah.. When this one was available I waited too long with my decision and suddenly it was sold out. In the end the main reason for skipping was those sadistic shipping costs. For few weeks I listened this latest from The Necromancers via BandCamp and I knew that I must get my hands on this someway or another. Now it’s here. Bought this from some Discogs seller and paid about 10 euros more than it would have cost (with shipping) […]
Aaahh.. Black Tomb. Actually I pre-ordered a copy of this album from the band over a year ago but never seen that copy, I don’t know where it is but certainly it’s not here with me. Fuck it, at least I got me a t-shirt and a patch.. This one here is a test pressing of this awesome album and I bought this from Totem Cat because I grew tired of waiting that copy I ordered. Like I said, I […]
Neurosis is Neurosis, what else there is to say. I have listened this few times now and I like this a lot, but this one needs time like every album Neurosis has ever put out. My friendship with this band started with their awesome “The Eye Of Every Storm” album, and I still find it best Neurosis record ever. I just have to give this new one some space and I know that in the end we are still close […]
Even though this wasn’t my day (you can check out from facebook why..) I’m still available to smile just because of this record. This is my first album by Subrosa (somehow I have managed to miss all previous ones.. can’t explain why) and even though I knew the release date and the time when this was available for pre-order, I still missed the most limited color variation. Okey, I tried to order a copy using my phone but couldn’t remember […]
I came across with this band via STB Records facebook page. Steve recommended this record (and the band) few months ago, I listened few tunes and surprise, I had to purchase a copy. Killer record this totally is, doomed stoner/sludge masterpiece. I got myself this black variation (limited to 200 copies) just because that white-colored (limited to 100 copies) sold out ages ago. If you are interested to blow your head off with this record you can grab a copy […]
Yep.it’s a test press of Terra Tenebrosa’s V.I:T.R.I.O.L twelve-inch. This experi-avant-doom-garde-mental band from Sweden forced me to follow their twisted path four years ago and still I haven’t found my way back.. Obviously I’m obsessed with this band. I love the music they produce and the atmosphere on their albums, twisted, sad, dark, hopeless etc. I have managed to purchase all their releases on most limited colorways and today I got this latest, test pressing of V.I.T.R.I.O.L. which is limited […]
Finally, a copy of this damn good album on clear vinyl (the one I was after) and most of all, I got this at a reasonable prize tag on it (Discog purchase, surprise). Yes, I missed this one totally when Riding Easy put this on sale.. But here it is now and there’s a smile on my face, from ear to ear. Been a big fan of this swedish fuzzed/space/sludge/doom trio since their debut album “Empress Rising” and this second […]
I picked this up from the Post office today. As far as I know this is the most limited version of this double vinyl (this was not available for public, limited to 100 copies). Few weeks ago as I was sitting on the train on my way to home when there came this tweet from Rise Above Records that few of these were available to purchase and I managed to pick a copy. Maybe this was little expensive but certainly worth […]
And the other one from Southern Lord (have to say that they know how to pack vinyl records secured). There’s not much more to say about this band, I already wrote enough in my previous post. Amazingly beautiful package and I remember dreaming about this record years ago even though I have never heard a note from this album. Now I finally have this, not original copy but so what. This is euro-edition, limited to 500 copies on orange vinyl […]
Today I got a package from Southern Lord. This one was the other album that package included. Repress of Earth’s “Hex; Or Printing In The Infernal Method” on orange vinyl. I have to admit that this band has always been a little stranger to me.. Well, wind of change is blowing through my head, from ear to ear. Droned, experimental doom or something but damn this sounds awesome (hey, remember that this is the first time I actually listen this […]
Finally this LP has been repressed (this time by Denovali). Originally this was released by E-vinyl Records back in 2008 but the reason I never purchased this was simply that it was released on picture disc. Now this massive debut album from this doom/post/hardcore band is in my hairy hands. This repress is limited to 150 copies on clear w/ blue splatter and 350 copies on black vinyl. Clear one is sold out from the source but still you can get […]
Finally this beauty found its way to my hands. First I stalked this weeks and managed to purchase a copy on release day. Well, it wasn’t that easy to get this on my hands after all. Last week I found out that this one was stuck on customs, waiting for declaration, in Netherlands!! (for your information, wrong country & wrong Customs). I want to thank Ivory Antler for handling/solving this case quickly! I’m happy. This release is limited to 300 hand-numbered copies […]
Yeah, and then we come to this split release by The Old Wind & Terra Tenebrosa. As I’m a great fan of Terra Tenebrosa I was totally surprised when I found out that they have done this split seven-inch with The Old Wind (band that I’m unfamiliar, well listening their tune at this very moment and sounds quite nice indeed). Ordered this from Pelagic Records with that Cult Of Luna twelve-inch just because of Terra Tenebrosa but it’s always nice […]
Even though I already have this on purple vinyl, I had to purchase this one too.. maybe it’s just because of limitation (30 hand-numbered copies) or then I just have serious issues with this vinyl collecting/hoarding thing. Anyways, I really like this band and this album. Oh, have to say that this jacket made of artificial leather smells horrible.. Recommended album from this Swedish doom rock/metal band. Album is released by RidingEasy Records (former EasyRiding records). If interested, check my […]
Finally I got this beauty, compilation including two albums on vinyl ‘Moths Have Eaten the Core’ and ‘The Prevailing Wind’ from Gates. This is dark, nearly hopeless dark ambient double package. Superb compilation and very nice work from Ivory Antler & Anti-Matter. This compilation was limited to 50 copies and sold out a long, long time ago. But if you are interested, ‘The Prevailing Wind’ can be purchased from Ivory Antler and ‘Moths Have Eaten the Core’ from Anti-Matter Records. Recommended […]
Got this test pressing of Rhinocervs RH-14 (unknown artist) from Final Agony Records today. These releases are interesting because I have no clue about artist etc. This one is, in my opinion, doomed black metal and sounds more than fine to my ear. If I remember right this test pressing was limited to 30 copies but do not worry because Final Agony is going to release this later this spring. So, keep your eyes on their webstore if you feel […]
It’s sludge time! After listening whole lot of piano music lately this brings little change to my over relaxed state of mind. It has been a while since I have listened good old sludge/stoner and this record woke me up from my slumber. And as I have said many times before, I can smoothly jump from modern classical to raw metal and other way around, no big deal to me. I like this one, that’s why I purchased it. This […]
Uh. This blackened, doomed psychedelic album also came today. It’s quite shivering experience to listen this through.. there is something wicked coming this way. If you like your music filled with screams, roars.. brooding atmosphere and doomed tunes, this album is just for you. This is definitely one of those albums for dark and hopeless moments. Limited to 99 copies on this splatter color and 401 copies on “Swamp Green” vinyl. Grab a copy from Anti-Matter Records. Recommended. Roarr!
This doomed stoner album arrived also today. I really like the roughness on this album (well, that was the reason I purchased this one). But in the same time this can be beautiful (I don’t know is that word best to describe this album) and very pleasing. According their BandCamp page this color version is limited to 100 copies and it’s still available from same place, BandCamp. I can recommend this one, honestly.
Little “occult” rock album that came today. For me this was obvious purchase. Debut album was strong release, so they was no doubt whether I buy this one or not. Strong album from this band, once again. This is limited to 98 copies on this color, 93 copies on white/black swirl (tour edition) and 588 on black vinyl. If you’re up to this one, you can get your hairy little hands on this via King Of Monsters, or Burning World […]
Little doom for the starters. This beauty came from Canada today. This has been on my wantlist for quite a time and now I finally managed to purchase this one. Well, this is doom, some may call this “funeral doom” but anyways, this sounds just as I expected this to sound.. gooooood. This colorway is limited to 100 copies and there is also black copies available (380 copies according to Discogs). Buy yours straight from the source, Profound Lore.
And this I picked up from Post office today. Collaboration with Nadja and Japanese Vampillia, released by mighty Important Records. Nice record and “must have” all fans of Nadja. This is limited to 500 copies (first 100 copies on red and rest on black vinyl). Available from the source, Important Records. Here’s something you can expect from this album:
This came few days ago, one of those Denovali releases that I’ve been looking for some time. Bought this from Discogs and I’m quite happy for this find. Even though this is early releases by Denovali, quality is as good as every other Denovali release. Limited to 250 copies on this color and 250 copies on black vinyl.
Got this from Denovali yesterday. This is repress of Switchblade’s third album and I was quite happy to found Denovali (with Trust No One) releasing this one. There are 500 copies made (150 copies on grey, and 350 copies on black vinyl). Available from Denovali.
I listened this a lot last week, a lot. Outstanding record in my opinion. Two powerful tunes and I lost my heart (once again). Perfect music for your headphones if your heart is open for avangardish doom metal. My copy of this album is black but there are some limited number of red, clear and white copies floating around. Recommended, with all my heart. I got my copy from Plastic Head.
This is one of few RSD left-overs I managed to pick up. Every record from this band is “must buy”. As I have mentioned, I personally do not like that much of this “limited editions for just one day- thing” but well, flesh is weak and I had to get my hands on this one. Great record, no words. Love. Record Shop X has multiple copies if you are interested.
This arrived earlier this week. Ordered this from Svart records after listening few tunes from Youtube. Nice doom/psychedelic album indeed. Limited to 100 copies on clear and 400 copies on gold vinyl. There are gold ones available from Svart Records.
Wow! This sounds excellent, I’m very pleased with this one! And yes, this also came today. If you like experimental doom, this one is for you. This is limited to 500 copies and 100 of those are gold-colored. The Flenser has sold gold one out but they still have black copies.Bis Aufs Messer has also sold gold one out but black ones are available..
Maybe the ugliest album cover I have seen for a long time (this is purely my opinion..). But what comes to the music, good old-time heavy metal with doom elements. Great album indeed. Got this copy from the friend of mine so I don’t know if purple version is still available but Svart Records seems to have silver and black copies. p.s. This can be found from Northern Silence Productions (purple colored vinyl, limited to 200 copies).
I haven’t been updating my little blog for a while because I have been struggling with never-ending flu & fever. But this came today, been waiting this to arrive too long. I had an issue with customs about this record but finally it’s here. Only sad thing about this record is the fact that there are still distributors who does not seem to understand how to send vinyl albums in proper way. Ok, this was in mailer with buffers etc.. […]
And yes, with this release YRSEL takes you far away from your comfort zone. This is really interesting recording released by Aurora Borealis. This goes straight to that category where Sutekh Hexen and Horseback etc. are floating. Maybe this goes much further.. Limited to 350 copies and is available from Aurora Borealis.
And little heavier stuff this time. This is also quite unfamiliar band to me. Saw this record on some distro and after listening few tunes I decided to purchase this. Nice cover, even though it can’t be seen on this picture. For example you can purchase this (on black or clear vinyl) from Southern Lord.
And this came today too. Even though I do not like very much of these split releases I wanted to give this a chance. Quite epic tune from Bongripper. I also liked very much of Hate, lovely grindcore, not mind-blowing but very enjoyable. This is limited to 100 copies on smoke and 400 copies on black vinyl. Black one still available from Bongrippers Bandcamp site.
Darkness.. very dark indeed. Creepy recording by Jason Khönen, the bass player of The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble. This is released by Denovali few years ago. Limited to 100 copies on this color and 200 copies on black vinyl. And for those who would like to have this record, head straight to Denovali! Why? Because both color variations are on sale (13€).
Solo album from another half of Barn Owl. These guys release so much albums under different names that I can’t even keep on track of those. But this one is very enjoyable LP indeed. This was limited to 500 copies and 100 of those came on white vinyl. I pre-orderd this when it was released. Seems that this is sold out from Handmade and Thrilljockey. Available at Discogs anyways..
Bought this from Denovali few years ago and this is still surprisingly good record. For fans of Cult Of Luna, Isis etc. Seems that this is limited to 1000 copies, 700 copies on this color variation and 300 copies on translucent and rainbow splatter vinyl. Available from Translation Loss Records.
And this one, bought this years ago and “never” have had time to get familiar with this. Have to update that fact now. Great band. Even though their album “Salvation” is my all time favorite album, this is a beautiful piece of art. I think this was limited to 1000 copies on black vinyl, there seems to be also color version floating around and prizes are floating somewhere beyond Jupiter and Neptune. Black version is more easily to find and […]
Yeshh! Love this band and their records. Instrumental doomsludgepostsomething, pure love. This record certainly has its place in my record rack. First this was released by E-Vinyl / Yskalnari Vinyl limited to 500 copies on black vinyl, 150 tour edition and repressed 300 copies. Denovali released this awesome album again and it is limited to 150 copies on silver with black haze, 350 on brown with black splatter. Then this was repressed once again (by Denovali) and limited to 150 copies […]
I know I should restrain my LP hoarding.. Bought black vinyl version of this record from Denovali few years ago. Love this old school death/doom band. Limited to 100 copies re-black splatter, 150 copies on gold (Die Hard edition) and 400 copies on black vinyl. Last year this album was repressed on black vinyl (again) and 300 copies on black/white split vinyl with black and white cover. This album should be easy to find because of 2nd edition. I included […]
This one I bought just because of Hooded Menace, I’m not that big fan of Horse Latitudes (it ain’t bad but I haven’t listened band so much.. yet). This is limited to 500 copies, coated by fake leather, with hot foil stamping. There’s also repress of this record (limited also to 500 copies but cover material is different). At least second press is available from MusicFearSatan.
