Sibyl: The Magic Isn’t Real 12″ (blue)

sibyl000

Woah! Just listen to those vocals on this twelve-inch record and you’ll understand why I have purchased this beauty. Strong psychedelic vibes on this doomed release by the band I haven’t heard of before, Sibyl . This release has been on heavy rotation lately and the only minus about this release is that it’s way too short. I want more! Thanks to DHU Records for introducing Sibyl and most of all, releasing “The Magic Isn’t Real” on vinyl. Still available from the source, DHU Records.

Son Of A Witch: Commanded by Cosmic Forces LP +CD (gold/black)

sonof

This is one of those albums that I have been waiting for quite some time and finally Kozmik Artifactz brought it to daylight. In 2016, I fell in love with the band’s debut album “Thrones In The Sky” and I think it took an unacceptably long time, four years, from this Brazilian band to put out new material. Time to ventilate the ear canals with this crushing beauty. Still available from the source, Kozmik Atifactz.

Häxan: Aradia LP (gold with white)

haxan000

Woah, yet one super cool sounding release from DHU Records. I bought this one via Kozmik Artifactz just because missed this one while it was available from the source (sorry!). The band seems to be from Canada and that’s quite everything I know about this group (have use google just to find out some more information). The thing that stole my attention on this album is the singer and her voice that intertwines every note together, creating a whole that approaches perfection. Sold out from the source and seems to me that it’s quite hard to find a copy within EU borders now, but don’t worry because Fuzzed And Buzzed (CA) still has some copies available!

Stonus: Aphasia LP (gold)

stonusXX

Holy shit this album is beautiful! This beauty waited a little too long for my attention but now that we have spent some quality time together, the connection is growing stronger day by day. Originally from Cyprus and nowadays based on London, this group is one to follow. For a debut album, this is a brilliant piece of art. Sol out from the source, Electric Valley Records, and other sources but seems that Sound-Effect Records still have some copies floating around, grab one while you still can!

Serpent Cobra: Anatomy Of Abuses LP (red)

00serpent

Woahh.. Yet another South American band, this time we are talking about Argentine duo Serpent Cobra and their debut album “Anatomy Of Abuses”. I came across this album via Interstellar Smoke Recordings while I was checking out their webshop. Little do I know about this band, I just let the music speak for itself. Nice one, different, and surely deserves a place in my collection   Available via Interstellar Smoke Records.

Sleepwulf: s/t LP (silver)

sleepwulfX

And then some 70’s influenced love, this time from Cursed Tongue Records. Once again outstanding package but what else can be expected from this label? The Band is Sleepwulf and this seems to be their debut release on vinyl format. Hard-hitting 70’s rock with a hint of doom aside, with this concept you just can’t go wrong. It seems that this sold out quite fast but don’t worry, there’s repress copies available via Cursed Tongue Records and Kozmik Artifactz. Go for it!

Dopelord: Sign Of The Devil LP (clear)

dopeX

Look what I got here, latest from Dopelord! Few years back I purchased their previous one “Children Of The Haze”, beautiful album by this doomed stoner-outfit from Poland. Now I got their latest one here with me, and I couldn’t be happier. Freaking awesome album and still available from Green Plague Records. This clear variation (limited to 150 copies) is sold out by now but you can still get your hands on that regular black wax. One of my favorite and highly recommended! Yesss!

Dö: Astral Death Cult LP (aqua blue)

doX

Well, it took a little longer to purchase this one than I thought. That mistake has been taken care of now. I bought this blue version (even though in the picture it looks like regular black version)  from Lay Bare Recordings. Döömed psychedelic/space/stoner is the thing here with this release. I have never had that much of fate for Finnish stoner/doom (or metal) genres overall but obviously, something is happening… At least between my ears. Great record this surely is. I’m turning into döömster..

Black Road: Witch of the Future LP (black & purple with cornetto effect)

black road

uuuhh.. Yet another great release from DHU, this time full-length from Black Road. This Chicago based band has managed to sneak into my heart & record collection quite easily. Few years back Dark Hedonistic Union released Black Road’s twelve-inch EP and I’ve been waiting since that release new material from the band (managed somehow to skip their 7″ inch, shame on me). Bluesy, heavy, fuzzed stoner with Suzi’s hypnotizing voice. Timeless beauty this surely is. Vinyl versions of this album are long gone, but some cassette versions are still available via band’s BandCamp site. Thank you DHU, for bringing these records to my life. And thank you Black Road, I will follow you where ever you’re going.

Hemptress: Alchemy LP (CTR edition)

hemptress1

I almost skipped this little treasure when it still was available (actually I just had some issues with my budget at that time). Fortunately, I came to my senses and decided to invest my pennies in what I love. These guys from Canada have stolen my heart with their southern influenced, stoner fueled rock ‘n’ roll. The band sounds awesome and like so many times before Cursed Tongue Records have managed to release an outstanding record. This variant is long gone but you still can get a copy (on black wax) from the source, Cursed Tongue Records. Hell Yeah!

Lurk: Fringe LP (gold, Boxset)

lurk

Don’t know if the band called Lurk say anything to anyone but here’s their latest album, Fringe. Have to admit that there’s only handful of domestic bands I follow nowadays, and Lurk wasn’t included until now. Years ago I bought Lurk’s debut album from their drummer (we worked under the same employer back then, as well as singer of Coughdust, guitarist of Korpiklaani etc.). Anyways, missed few of their previous records but few months ago I came across with this latest while I was surfing around BandCamp.. Freaking good doom/sludge album, forcing me to check those two previous albums I have managed to miss. Available via Transcending Obscurity Records.

Haunted: Dayburner 2xLP (DHU exclusive)

haunted

Easily one of the best albums released this year and that’s my opinion. Been listening this a lot recently (mostly from the tape I purchased earlier, just wanna save the vinyl later you know). Doomed this album is and those vocals.. I’m in heaven. Beautiful release from one of my favourite labels, Dark Hedonistic Union Records (DHU). Now that I’m under the spell of Haunted I have to dig out that debut album from my record rack. This color variation is long gone but you still can grab this awesome album on black vinyl from the source, DHU Records. Those cassette lovers can pick a copy for example from Twin Earth Records. To quote DHU’s slogan, Damned if you do doomed if you don’t!
