Messa: Close 2xLP (gold)

messa_x

The latest arrival, Messa with their new album “Close”. The band seems to be evolving album by album towards something bigger. This is one of the toughest albums to be released this year. I personally got to know the band with their second album and the goal would be to get their debut album on the shelf as soon as possible. Atmospheric, epic, and darker than previous albums and still one of the most amazing records I’ve spent my money on over the last year. Available for example from RecordShopX..

Mystic Sons: Curses And Spells LP (gold with black splatter)

mystic sons

Then there’s Mystic Sons, doomed stoner from Switzerland and holy freaking hell I fell in love with this record right from the start. I remember hearing the title track via BandCamp and I knew right away what I have to do. Nice package filled with Curses And Spells and the vinyl itself doesn’t look that bad at all. Really like these vocals on this groovy, fuzzed master piece if I may say so. Check out this release if you haven’t already done it, highly recommended! A few copies still available via BandCamp if you feel this is your thing.

Earthbong: Bong Rites 2xLP (secret stash edition)

earthbong

Here’s some heavy shit in form of Earthbong. Never heard of this band before so it was time to grab myself by the neck and let these riffs tear my soul to pieces. This German band manages to crush my shine & happy world to deepest and darkest hole on earth. Released by one of my favourite labels, Black Farm Records. Because I have learned to trust the quality of certain record labels, I usually make purchase decisions without listening in advance to the records they release. It has become a way to surprise myself. And I was totally blown away with this one! For those who are interested, this is still available from the source, Black Farm Records (even though this color variation is long gone, there are still regular ones available).

Dead Quiet: Truth & Ruin LP (orange/black slatter)

dead quiet

Yet another new acquaintance, this time it is a band from Canada called Dead Quiet, I think this is the band’s third full-length album, and the first that I have listened and I am very satisfied that I bought the album. I got this album a few months ago and only recently I have been able to focus on this particular record. Damn good hard rocking stoner album with some influences from Hard Rock & Heavy Metal mixed with a bit of doom. Awesome record and still available for example via Kozmik Artifactz. Grab a copy while you still can.

The Crooked Whispers: Satanic Melodies LP (orange)

the crooked

Ain’t this a some bad-ass release? Surely I can feel how evil oozes from the grooves of this vinyl. This album could be some kind of soundtrack for some obnoxious human-sacrifising cult.. and I like it, a lot. Managed to grab this very limited version just because on the day of release I waited patiently in front of the screen, pressing the F5-button compulsively. Released jointly by Electric Valley Records & Techio Dischi. Available via BandCamp. Recommended!

Goblinsmoker: Toad King 12″ (clear with green splatter)

_goblin

Got this abomination from Sludgelord a few weeks ago.. Dirty, evil and heavy as hell. This surely is not the easiest record to listen through. Actually this recording was released a few years ago on cassette version. I missed the tape back then but now I’m happy owner of “Toad King”on most precious format, vinyl. Still available from the source, Sludgelord. Recommended one if you want to let your speakers grind your brains to porridge, like I do!

Fumarole: Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes LP (black marbled transparent green)

fumarole

Some grooving Stoner/doom from Australia in vinyl format. Band follows the name Fumarole and this is their debut album “Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes”. I listened to a few songs through BandCamp and my interest woke up right away. The  purchase decision was obvious. Lately this album has been spinning under the needle almost daily and have to say it’s worth every damn penny I invested. Have to send some love to Interstellar for releasing these kinda records, from bands that deserve to be heard! Still available from the source, Interstellar Smoke Records and I suggest you to purchase a copy while you still can..

Jointhugger: I Am No One LP (clear with black blob)

jointhugger

This one was worth to wait. Jointhugger, from Norway, and their debut album “I Am No One”. This album is raw, crushing and feels like it’s dragging you down below, somewhere where laws of nature forgotten. Dirty stoner / sludge /doom mixed with some psychedelic and with this recipe Jointhugger can’t go wrong. This monster is still available via Interstellar Smoke Records, so grab a copy and let that light fade out from your eyes.

Kryptograf: Kryptograf LP (grey marbled)

kryptograf

Even though it took some time to arrive, it’s finally here with me (and I wanna thank Apollon Records for helping out with this one). Norwegian Kryptograf is hitting hard with this debut album. Album filled with soundscapes from late 60`s / 70`s metal & hard rock with some modern doomed touch. Listened this a lot during last summer (in digital format) and ow that I finally have this physical LP, it’s time for another round. Great stuff, still available via Apollon Records (2nd press). Get yours because these wont last long..

Slow Green Thing: Amygdala LP (clear)

slow2

Slow Green Thing from Germany and their latest release, Amygdala. I’ve been familiar with this band’s name but it took way too long to check out their records, shame on me. A few weeks ago I suddenly listened this one via BandCamp and purchased physical version immediately after first song I heard. Love the slow, groovy heaviness wrapped with almost ethereal vocals. Music like this is meant to listen via headphones with maximum volume. Available from the band via their BandCamp site and I suggest you to check out their other available albums too (I bought their previous album, III, along this one).

Your Portfolio Archive currently has no entries. You can start creating them on your dashboard.

Las Historias: Las Historias LP (clear)

historians

Some psychedelic, 70s influenced bluesy stoner/space rock from where else than South America and Argentina. There is coming so much new stuff from the same continent that makes me wonder what the hell is happening there? When this Las Historias album was announced by Electric Valley Records I skipped it because of that cover picture (rather frivolous reason, must admit) but I’m old-fashioned relic who once bought records based only on the cover art .. forgive my simplicity. Too late I realized that I had condemned the band for wrong reasons, all variants were sold out. Fortunately Kozmik Artifatcz suddenly announced that they had this record on their distro and I managed to grab this clear variant. Lucky me because all color variants are long gone by now. Recommended, highly.

Sibyl: The Magic Isn’t Real 12″ (blue)

sibyl000

Woah! Just listen to those vocals on this twelve-inch record and you’ll understand why I have purchased this beauty. Strong psychedelic vibes on this doomed release by the band I haven’t heard of before, Sibyl . This release has been on heavy rotation lately and the only minus about this release is that it’s way too short. I want more! Thanks to DHU Records for introducing Sibyl and most of all, releasing “The Magic Isn’t Real” on vinyl. Still available from the source, DHU Records.

Son Of A Witch: Commanded by Cosmic Forces LP +CD (gold/black)

sonof

This is one of those albums that I have been waiting for quite some time and finally Kozmik Artifactz brought it to daylight. In 2016, I fell in love with the band’s debut album “Thrones In The Sky” and I think it took an unacceptably long time, four years, from this Brazilian band to put out new material. Time to ventilate the ear canals with this crushing beauty. Still available from the source, Kozmik Atifactz.

Häxan: Aradia LP (gold with white)

haxan000

Woah, yet one super cool sounding release from DHU Records. I bought this one via Kozmik Artifactz just because missed this one while it was available from the source (sorry!). The band seems to be from Canada and that’s quite everything I know about this group (have use google just to find out some more information). The thing that stole my attention on this album is the singer and her voice that intertwines every note together, creating a whole that approaches perfection. Sold out from the source and seems to me that it’s quite hard to find a copy within EU borders now, but don’t worry because Fuzzed And Buzzed (CA) still has some copies available!

Stonus: Aphasia LP (gold)

stonusXX

Holy shit this album is beautiful! This beauty waited a little too long for my attention but now that we have spent some quality time together, the connection is growing stronger day by day. Originally from Cyprus and nowadays based on London, this group is one to follow. For a debut album, this is a brilliant piece of art. Sol out from the source, Electric Valley Records, and other sources but seems that Sound-Effect Records still have some copies floating around, grab one while you still can!

Serpent Cobra: Anatomy Of Abuses LP (red)

00serpent

Woahh.. Yet another South American band, this time we are talking about Argentine duo Serpent Cobra and their debut album “Anatomy Of Abuses”. I came across this album via Interstellar Smoke Recordings while I was checking out their webshop. Little do I know about this band, I just let the music speak for itself. Nice one, different, and surely deserves a place in my collection   Available via Interstellar Smoke Records.

Sleepwulf: s/t LP (silver)

sleepwulfX

And then some 70’s influenced love, this time from Cursed Tongue Records. Once again outstanding package but what else can be expected from this label? The Band is Sleepwulf and this seems to be their debut release on vinyl format. Hard-hitting 70’s rock with a hint of doom aside, with this concept you just can’t go wrong. It seems that this sold out quite fast but don’t worry, there’s repress copies available via Cursed Tongue Records and Kozmik Artifactz. Go for it!

Dopelord: Sign Of The Devil LP (clear)

dopeX

Look what I got here, latest from Dopelord! Few years back I purchased their previous one “Children Of The Haze”, beautiful album by this doomed stoner-outfit from Poland. Now I got their latest one here with me, and I couldn’t be happier. Freaking awesome album and still available from Green Plague Records. This clear variation (limited to 150 copies) is sold out by now but you can still get your hands on that regular black wax. One of my favorite and highly recommended! Yesss!

Dö: Astral Death Cult LP (aqua blue)

doX

Well, it took a little longer to purchase this one than I thought. That mistake has been taken care of now. I bought this blue version (even though in the picture it looks like regular black version)  from Lay Bare Recordings. Döömed psychedelic/space/stoner is the thing here with this release. I have never had that much of fate for Finnish stoner/doom (or metal) genres overall but obviously, something is happening… At least between my ears. Great record this surely is. I’m turning into döömster..

Black Road: Witch of the Future LP (black & purple with cornetto effect)

black road

uuuhh.. Yet another great release from DHU, this time full-length from Black Road. This Chicago based band has managed to sneak into my heart & record collection quite easily. Few years back Dark Hedonistic Union released Black Road’s twelve-inch EP and I’ve been waiting since that release new material from the band (managed somehow to skip their 7″ inch, shame on me). Bluesy, heavy, fuzzed stoner with Suzi’s hypnotizing voice. Timeless beauty this surely is. Vinyl versions of this album are long gone, but some cassette versions are still available via band’s BandCamp site. Thank you DHU, for bringing these records to my life. And thank you Black Road, I will follow you where ever you’re going.
