I bought this album a few months ago via Discogs. I don’t usually purchase used records without seeing but this seller is a trusted one and I had been looking for this album for a while. Now I had a chance to get this in my collection and even at a reasonable price. Devil’s Plan is floating somewhere between doom & stoner and sounds damn good. I’m happy I got this here with me now.
Space, the final frontier.. Vinnum Sabbathi is offering us a journey to the stars with their latest release “Of Dimensions & Theories”. Quite impressing, instrumental stoner/space rock album from this Mexican group. Beautiful looking package and for your information, this version is now sold out but Stolen Body Records seems to have 2nd edition (Mars & Phobos) available. What are you still waiting for? Go ahead and take trip to the stars while you still can.
Öööh.. Do I know anything about this band? No. I just came across with this album while surfing around the net. This album was on someone’s top ten favorite albums list or something. I checked this out and I was sold immediately. Yeah, the band is from Sweden, surprise… Freaking awesome sounding album and I really, really love this one, period. Available from Transubstans Records.
Australian desert/stoner/fuzzed/psych group delivering some delicious ear candy. Majesic Mountain Records released this one earlier this year and I grabbed a copy immediately. Been listening to this a lot since the day I got a copy delivered to my doorsteps. I’m quite sure that this record can be found on my “Highlights of 2020” list. This is totally sold out from the source, Majestic Mountain Records, but if you fancy a copy of your own then head to BandCamp!
Here’s a release I love so much, Chrome Ghost and their debut album, The Diving Bell. I got the cassette version of this album last year via Transylvanian Tapes and it was love at first sight. This is doom with a mixture of post-metal, drone, maybe some sludge.. A little hard for me to describe what this is about, you have to hear it yourself. Vinyl version came via Seeing red Records earlier this year (two color variations both limited […]
Hmm.. Here I am tryng to figure out how many outstanding bands & records there are I haven’t heard of and how many I will miss?. This release from Italian band, Humulus, could have been one of those but luckily that did not happen. So, how did I come across with this psych/desert/stoner release? Well, going through Kozmik Artifactz latest mailorder additions… and checking them out via BandCamp & Youtube. Really like this record, atmosphere, vibes and clean singing (a […]
This record has been spinning a lot while I have been isolating myself from the outside world. The band is Witchfinder from France and this is their second vinyl release called Hazy Rites. I don’t know anything about this band but holy hell do I like this album. Doomed stoner/sludge is the name of the came here and the title of the album tells all you need to know. I like this album a lot and I’m a little confused […]
And surprise, yet another psychedelic/doomed stoner/sludge outfit from, where else than Sweden! My journey with Domkraft started with their debut album five years ago and still, we are heading the same direction. I haven’t missed any of their releases during these years (some most limited versions still on my wantlist though..). Highly recommended band if you haven’t checked them out already (which I doubt). This twelve-inch is released by Blues Funeral Recordings and still available from the source (most limited […]
Me and my demented mind… I bought this debut album from The Graviators last year (together with their second one, Evil Deeds) via Discogs. Great band, mind-blowing hard rocking stoner, and it’s a shame they do not exist anymore. I have been wondering for years how in hell they are so many outstanding bands coming from Sweden, not that many from Finland. Maybe it’s the Gulf of Bothnia separating us Finns from the rest of civilization leaving us isolated with […]
Haa… about a year ago I got Yatra’s debut album “Death Ritual” and now I got their second one, Bloof of The Night, here with me. This latest one is released by STB Records and I chose Obi-version just because it looked nicer than other color-variations. For those who are not familiar with this band, Yatra is a little darker mix of sludge/stoner/doom with a hint of Death metal in their sound. Beautiful album and really nice to see STB […]
Managed to get my sweaty hands on this dirty release too (thanks to Creep Purple). At one point I promised to myself that I won’t miss any Mephistofeles release but that promise has proved a little difficult to keep. Just can’t keep tracking what label is releasing their upcoming material next, and in what format. Well, I’m glad that I got this one. Been listening to this band since I purchased their debut via Black Farm Records four years ago […]
Fell in love with this band after purchasing their previous album “From Elsewhere” at the end of 2019. Now I got their latest one here with me. And my love for this band is growing and growing. Awesome album, leaving me speechless. Psychedelic/stoner or something… A record like this one is for listening and my words are meaningless just because I just can’t find the right ones to describe how amazing this album is. I couldn’t find a copy from […]
Yep.. This band is also one of those I have managed to miss/skip earlier. The point is that there are so many amazing bands/albums floating around and I just don’t have time to check all those out, it’s just impossible. Cursed Tongue Records is one of those labels I follow closely and lately, I have purchased nearly everything the label has released. This latest from Marijannah came through CTR and obviously, I was interested (actually I purchased this album without […]
Took a little longer than I expected to include this one to my collection. Strangers by Obsidian Sea had been on my “wantlist” since it was released and now I managed to grab this multicolored version via Ripple Music’s sale about a month ago. Name of the game here is stoner/doom with obvious 70’s influences. Vocal work on this album reminds me of something so familiar but I just can’t figure it out.. Recommended one this surely is. Still available […]
A few years back I purchased Lunar Funeral’s “Sex On Grave” on cassette via Hellas Records (if I remember right) and been digging it since the day the tape arrived. I also have to admit that this band is one of few Russian stoner/doom outfit I have ever heard of. Anyways, Forbidden Face Records has put out this beautiful album on vinyl recently and surprise surprise I just had to purchase this wax version too. My copy is one with […]
If I remember right, this was the first record I received via Postal delivery this year. Once again DHU Records managed to surprise me with an awesome release. I bought this one on cassette version a few years ago and if I remember right, there was some kind of crowdfunding project around this album (vinyl version) back then. That project never achieved its goal and the vinyl version was waiting to be released by some proper label in a distant […]
As usual, I’m a little lazy when it comes to split releases but when I spotted this Cough / Windhand split via Discogs,, I just couldn’t help myself, Bought this as used and got it in pristine condition, great score if I may say. Brilliant release and if you listen very carefully you can even hear me rubbing my dirty hands with joy!
Still Remember missing this one when it was released on cassette format. I was even ready to purchase it via Discogs at a premium price if only it would have been available lucky I didn’t. Quite honestly I didn’t expect this to be released on vinyl but here it is now. I purchased this color variation just because it looked quite nice. Still available via Kozmik Artifactz. Great band!
Some dirty stuff from Argentina. About a year and a half ago I bought The Black Furs debut album via Golden Dawn Recording and that filthy doomed sound is still alive and breathing! I got me this green variant and bought also cassette version, so that might tell how much I like this album. There’s something strange happening in Argentina for sure, first Mephistofeles and now The Black Furs. Both versions of this album (cassette & vinyl) were available via […]
The third album I have managed to get from this freaking beautiful band (missed that previous one..). Merlin has traveled so far from their first album, there’s saxophone, flute, accordion, trumpet.. and still this is Merlin. The outstanding album floating somewhere between space/stoner/psychedelic/doom & stoner. The Company records have managed to release a marvelous package and I have to say it’s worth every penny I invested in it. Splattered one is sold out but you still can get yellow variation […]
I know that this band has already released two albums but this eight-inch is the first I have bought / listened. Oh, and I’m loving it. DHU released this some time ago and after checking the band I had to have this (and obviously I’m going after those two full-lengths too). This awesome 8″ is limited to only 66 copies so I must say I’m lucky to have it. Have to admit that I was about to skip this […]
Here’s a tape you should check out. Evilspeak with same-titled cassette. This CS is filled with grooving, doomed sludge/stoner and I love this one so much. Have to say that I’m really happy I bought this one and if you ask me, I would love to see this on vinyl too. Give this one a minute or two and you’ll see what I mean. Show your support and purchase the cassette from their BandCamp page. Nice one!!
DHU Records hitting hard once again. This time releasing a heavy fuzzed, doomed stoner album by The Red Widows. Actually, this one arrived some time ago but I’ve been sooooo lazy posting my new purchases here. Anyways, with this album, The Red Widows manages to wrap its haunting fingers around my neck while pulling me deeper and deeper into its fuzzed oblivion.. Great release from the great label. There’s a good reason why I keep purchasing DHU releases one […]
Better later than ever. The Graviators, I have come across the name of this group a few times but never bothered to check any of their records before. Been following some Facebook groups about stoner & doom and saw Robert Black (a guy behind one of my favorite DIY labels, DHU Records) posting a picture of this album there. After staring that picture a while I thought maybe I should check out this band at last. Damn! It was love […]
Ain’t this a nice piece of doomed/fuzzed stoner? Black Smokers is the title of the debut album by Canadian heavy monster, Lochness. The record label behind this evil abomination is called From The Urn. Earlier this year From The Urn released awesome album by Marécages and the decision to buy this one was quite easy. This “die hard” version is already sold out but there are a few regular black colored versions available from the band’s BandCamp page. If you like […]
Waited this one to arrive quite a long time and it didn’t help that it was stuck on customs a few extra days. Clouds Taste Satanic and their latest doomed/instrumental/stoner filled full-length. Found this band a couple of years ago and this one is the third album I got from this stunning group. Really nice package overall, splattered vinyl, patch, zippo-like lighter & rolling paper… This “Halloweed” edition is sold out but there’s a few other variations still available via […]
Holy sh**.. !! I picked this one from the local post office a few days ago (after paying taxes etc..). This is Firebreather, crushing doomed stoner monster, from (surprisingly) Sweden. Pure ear candy from the first track to the last one. Released by Riding Easy Records and this variation is limited to 75 copies (should have been red with black splatter but my version is more or less just red). All color variations still available from the source and if […]
Ha! Scored a Devil’s Witch release (on vinyl) the second time in a row! Maybe just because there are 700 copies floating around. Have to admit that I ordered two copies, from two different sources just to make sure that I get at least one pristine copy without corner dings etc. Well, I got one pristine copy even though I was worried when picking those packages from the post office, both records came packed in those “most” hazardous mailers (mailers […]
Fourth album by this Swedish fuzz king, Monolord. Album after another this band manages to wrap me around its finger (or is that even a proper saying?). Damn, this album is fueled by fuzzy, doomed sadness… like that tittle of the album, there’s no comfort on this album. Brilliant release. This variant is limited to 100 copies and it’s long gone, but do not worry because there are plenty of not-that-limited variants available via Relapse US / Relapse EU. Certainly […]
And this beauty I bought via Cursed Tongue Records. This is Hippie Death Cult and this band sounds amazing overall! Now that I’ve listened to this album for a few weeks, I really do understand why this record collects praising reviews from every direction. 111 is fueled with soundscapes from the 70s, doom & stoner and with some grunge influences. This awesome package is released by Cursed Tongue Records (one of my favorite DIY labels out there) and you can […]
This instrumental stoner/sludge/doom abomination arrived earlier this week. I almost skipped this one because of term “instrumental”… Now that I got this here with me, I’m quite happy that I didn’t. Crushing & heavy this surely is and who needs vocals when the music itself is leading the story? Limited to 300 copies on transparent green vinyl. The band has sold out vinyl copies but there’s still cassette version available via their BandCamp site. I found at least one place […]
Missed this one 4 years ago, don’t ask me why because I can’t remember. Bought this via Discogs, from the same seller as that Holy Serpent album I posted about earlier. Single-sided twelve-inch record limited to 100 copies and released by STB Records. Three tunes filled with doomed sludge, so nothing can go wrong with this. Nice one.
Hey, what is happening here? Why I haven’t heard about this band before? Waingro has released two albums before this newest one and I’ve been out of the map with these recordings. Thanks to Sludgelord Records for releasing this third album and presenting this group to me.. Waingro hits hard with their stoner fueled, heavy rocking sound. You can purchase this via band’s BandCamp site and EU customers via Sludgelord Records. I have seen the light.
Truth is that when the vinyl is not an option, then you go for CS (really hope that someone out there would release this on vinyl). Old Horn Tooth with this doomed, noisy stoner/sludge-filled tape stole my attention immediately as I heard this tape via BandCamp. This green copy is from the first press (limited to 25 copies) and there’s also a second press released on purple cassette (also limited to 25 copies). The sad truth is that both versions […]
Finally, this debut album by Kongh has been on my “want list” for years and suddenly found a copy via Discogs for a very decent price. Even though this has been released 12 years ago it sounds quite fresh to me. Crushing doomed sludge or something.. I don’t care about labeling music for different genres. Brilliant record. This version is limited to 270 copies. Recommended one.
Track number 2 and 11 seconds. Within those 11 seconds, I made my mind and bought this album. Kannabinõid comes from Estonia and this sludge/stoner/doom/metal-filled album has stolen my heart & soul. This album titled “3” seems to be their second full-length and what an album it is. Limited to 200 copies and available via their BandCamp site. Just check out this monstrous beauty, I’m going after their debut one. Special thanks to the one who packed & shipped this, […]
This box set by Eremit arrived nearly 6 months ago, shame on me… that I haven’t had time for this one until now. This one is heavy, and I really mean that. The band is from Germany and this is their debut album (and if you ask me, this is freaking amazing for debut album.. or album at all). I bought this box set (limited to 50 copies) via Transcending Obscurity and seems that they have sold out all vinyl […]
Doooooommmm.. got this one on vinyl & on cassette. Love this kinda ethereal doom or whatever you may call this. DHU Records released this on clear, lathe cut vinyl limited to only 66 copies (maybe that was little too limited run..). Aaarghh.. this must be one of the best releases I have heard by far during 2019. DHU Records has sold out this vinyl version (surprise) but Sludgelord still has this on cassette so you know where to go. Amazing […]
Cassettes, when these came available it was must-have thing to me. Got all these Conan releases on vinyl too, except one. Use to have that “Horseback Battle Hammer” on vinyl but.. sometimes when you’re short on cash you obviously end up doing things you will regret rest of your life. Anyways, if you’re missing some of these tunes you better act fast because the won’t last long: Horseback Battle Hammer, Blood Eagle and Revengeance (Existential Void Guardian is soldout from this source..). […]
Let’s start this marathon with some older release. This twelve-inch from Jex Thoth has been on my “wantlist” for ages and now it’s finally where it should have been years ago, in my record shelf. Got this cheap and in top condition (actually I was after another release and the seller had also listed this one for sale too). Awesome release indeed. Still missing their debut album, yeah I once had it but was stupid enough to sell it.. stupid […]
There should always be at least one Bongripper album in your collection, I got few. Purchased this from Kozmik Artifactz, little expensive but must buy just because the original version is little hard to find. One of a kind band with an enormous wall of sound. This color variation, limited to 200 copies, still available via Kozmik Artifactz. Oh, and Kozmik also have a repress of “Terminal” available if you haven’t noticed yet. Beauty.
Finally, pristine copy. I really like this record (well, that’s obvious because I bought it..twice). Doom/stoner hitting heavy & hard. I came across this record while checking out some stoner charts and it was love at first sight and now it has been on my playlist daily. Really don’t know the pressing amount of this purple version but who cares because there’s also regular black copies available. As said before, I bought this record twice. First version via the band […]
Somehow I have managed to avoid this band for some time, don’t ask me why because I have no idea. Was surfing around BandCamp and suddenly decided to check this album out. Well.. It took only a few minutes to purchase “Alruna” from Argonauta Records after listening to that first track. This one is heavy, doomed and at the same time so gooooood. Now that this band has stolen my attention, I must get their debut I have managed to […]
And what about this monstrous abomination filled with filthy fuzz, moss, mushrooms, and some secret green stuff? Lucifungus from Australia with their debut album (correct me if I’m wrong) “Akuma Kin”. Doomed stoner rock/metal and Hell Yeah I freaking love this record! Some might say that this sounds like Canadian Dopethrone, but more you listen, more you know. F**king awesome release. This came through Black Farm Records some time ago and this color variation (limited to 100 copies) is long […]
Little late with this one, have to admit. Ordered this debut full-length from Doomstress about 4 months ago from DHU Records but started spinning it just a few weeks ago (shame on me). Now that I have listened to this album numerous times, it keeps growing and that’s what I like. Great heavy Stoner album and great job from DHU that keeps releasing these beauties. Available from DHU Records, DHU edition is sold out but there’s still Bones & Rust […]
Hmm.. remember that saying, the grass is greener on the other side of the fence? Sometimes that’s just not true. I’ve known this band for years but never actually owned any of their records before this compilation of demos etc. Now I finally understand why Reverend Bizarre was, still is, such a respected band. This compilation is a great way to start an everlasting journey with the band I never bothered to check out earlier. Here we go now! Released […]
Got this latest album (Evil Eye) by Clouds Taste Satanic last week. My second album from this doomed/stoner/instrumental outfit. Still a big fan of instrumental post-rock but haven’t been listening to that much of instrumental music lately. Some may say that this kinda music is boring but Clouds Taste Satanic (with their doomed view) takes the whole thing to the next level. Two tracks on this album and the atmosphere on both tracks is crushing. A beautiful record we have […]
Totally new band for me. Heard this band for the first time via Cursed Tongue Records and the track called “Vicarious” forced me to listen more. After that, it was quite an easy decision to purchase the album. Not that traditional Stoner/doom band, they are mixing different elements to their music and it makes this album so refreshing. Great release from Cursed Tongue Records (like the fact that this label does not get stuck on some specific genre). This treasure is still […]
Hah, yet another split release (seems that I have to take back those previous words about not liking split releases). This arrived months ago and finally I have time to give this one proper spinning time. Quality package from DHU Records, once again. There’s still various versions available from the source, DHU. Get one (or more) while you still can because these will be gone sooner or later.
Even though I’m not that big fan of split releases, I had to purchase this one from Black Tomb / Crud released by Totem Cat Records. Filthy split mixed with darkened doom/stoner/death metal, in other words, beauty. Still available from the source, Totem Cat Records, TCR edition & regular edition.
