Mika Vainio & Franck Vigroux: Ignis 12″

vainio

Have to admit that I went trough some inner battle whether or not to purchase this release because after all it’s post-death release from Vainio’s material. Well, I bought it anyways just to realize that there must be so much unreleased material from Mika and his collaborations with other awesome artists, like this time with Franck Vigroux. I think that we are going to hear his beautiful sounscapes through numerous releases during upcoming years. My favourite artist among electronical music and I don’t have words to describe how much this artist means to me. Boomkat has copies if you’re interested.

Night Runner: Thunderbird LP (Deluxe edition)

night01

I’m still here.. Just realized that it has been way too long since the last update. Let’s start with this one I got from Poisoned Mind Records few months ago. Second full-length from Night Runner. Thunderbird is the title of the album. I missed Night Runners debut (deluxe version) year ago just because I took few beers too much, passed out & missed that dlx version.. Would like to thank Poisoned Mind for the copy I got for free (pink/black splattered version) later with other order.

So I was quite awake with this second one and scored deluxe version (sold out quite fast). Don’t know what have I done because I also got another copy (clear w/  black & blue splattered version, see picture below) included. And for those who don’t know, Night Runner is mixing synthwave with other genres like jazz, metal, soundtrack etc. Awesome package, I love this but you don’t have to. Vinyl versions of this release are long gone. Recommended album if you get your hands on this.

Wojciech Golczewski: Reality Check (cassette)

reality_check

Since I missed the vinyl version of this album I decided to purchase this cassette version, and have to say that I’m quite happy with this format too. Seems that my vinyl puritanism days are far gone. Anyways, I really like this little cassette filled with synthwave/electronic tunes and like that Necro Deathmort album this should also be soundtrack to some futuristic sci-fi film. Really nice one. Cassette version still available for example from Two Headed Dog. Get your hands on this synthwave diamond while you still can.

Necro Deathmort: Overland LP (transparent blue)

necro_dethmort

Haaa.. It’s the latest full-length from mighty Necro Deathmort. It’s damn nice to see how far this band has reached. I remember ordering their CD years ago (actually it was between 2011-2012) called “Music Of Bleak Origin”.. Still that album sounds amazing like this new one. Overland is like apocalyptic soundtrack to some sci-fi movie, hmmm.. like this new Blade Runner. Great record and those who are interested of electronic/experimental soundscapes should certainly check this out. Vinyl available on four different colors (three colored versions, each limited to 100 copies) clear, blue, red & regular black. EU customers can purchase this brilliant album from Profound’s EU store, others might want to check this via Profound’s MerchTable store.

Mika Vainio & Franck Vigroux: Peau froide, léger soleil 2xLP

vainio

Got this one months ago and it has taken some time to check this trough.. Beautiful record this surely is. I really hard to recommend these kind of records because if you are not into minimalistic/electronic music. For me these records and soundscapes are the best way to escape this hectic world we are living. I can imagine myself staring at the distance headphones on allowing thse soundwaves took over. Great record from late Mika Vainio & Franck Vigroux.  Available from Cosmo Rhythmatic (few copies left though)

Mika Vainio: Kilo 2xLP

kilo

One more addition to my Vainio collection, little different just because here you can almost hear some rhythmic elements on this one. It’s a pity that time wasn’t by Mika Vaino’s side and there must be a huge amount of unreleased material no one will ever never hear. As a fan I still wait some past records to be released on vinyl.. even though I have few of those on CD-format. Beautiful record this is and hunting continues for those I still miss. For those who are interested, Kilo is still available from various stores so do not hesitate buying this beauty, it’s worth every penny.

Necro Deathmort: EP3 12″

necro dethmort

Third twelve-inch from Necro Deathmort. I have been following this duo for some time now (actually since their CD “Music Of Bleak Origin” released in 2011). So, as you can see I still purchase albums from various artists (even though lately I have been posting about my “Death Metal” collection etc.). Necro Deathmort has been close to my heart for years now and still I love what they are doing, strange dark ambient filled synth-whatever-you-wanna-call-it. I bought this via Distraction Records BandCamp site and it cost me £2.80 GBP + shipping (you can try discount code EIGHTYOFF, seems that it’s still working). No I will sit silently and wait for their upcoming album. Shhhh..

Pan Sonic: Aaltopiiri 2xLP

aaltopiiri

Those who have visited this blog of mine earlier surely know my fixation about Pan Sonic (perviously known as Panasonic) & Mika Vainio with all his aliases. Here’s “Aaltopiiri”, Pan Sonic’s fourth album from the year 2000. I bought this treasure via Discogs few months ago and the seller was kind enough adding some extra with the album, “Selections From Aaltopiiri” twelve-inch promo.

aaltopiiri_promo

Minimal, electronic, abstract is the field we are playing here and this surely ain’t music for everybody’s ears. Damn I love these tunes, now and forever.

A Cosmic Gift: Hologram LP (cosmic haze) + test pressing

a-cosmic01

Because I’m a big fan of Richard Houghten this was must buy for me. A Cosmic Gift is a duo by Houghten & Brandon Burger and this is their third album together.  Oh, and this was the very first time I managed to purchase A Cosmic Gift album (previous albums sold out within hours). Really hard to describe music on this record, it’s some strange mixture of ambient, electronic, downtempo & folktronica (like Houghten use to label his music). Six months ago I got single-sided test pressing of this record and as you can see from the picture below, there’s a hologram.

a-cosmic02

This “cosmic haze” one is limited to 100 copies (sold out) but here’s also 300 copies on black wax (limited to 300 copies) & less than hundred copies available from the source, SlyVinyl.

Ø: Konstellaatio 2xLP

konstellaatio

Last full-length from Mika Vainio’s alias, Ø.  beautiful record from my most favourite electronic artist. As we all know (and if you did not, you will), Mika Vainio died accidentally few months ago in France and sad but true that reflects straight to prizes of the records he was involved with. I bought this album with 12″ Syväys straight from Sähkö Recordings little before his passing to the other side. Huge lost. Now that I have listened this album several times there’s some kind of sadness, stillness embracing all these tunes. Thanks for your music, rest in peace.

Wolfmen Of Mars: Gamisu LP (black with green splatter) + some great xtra items!!

wolfmen of mars

I did it, I managed to grab a copy (of this most limited variation) a month ago. Few restock copies were available from Poisoned Mind Records and you just can imagine my finger tapping that F5 button.. I have a test press of this record already and don’t know what I was thinking when I skipped this DLX version (numbered & limited to 77 copies) back then. But now I have this awesome sci-fi/horror/instrumental/garage/whatever masterpiece here with me. Awesome record indeed!

Package arrived (as usual) in perfect condition but that’s not all. As I picked the package from the Post Office I noticed that it weighted quite much.. Opened it at home and found some extra stuff..

poisoned mind

With sweaty hands I picked up following items from the package:

Night Runner: Starfighter LP (pink with black splatter, ltd. 140 copies) -sold out-
Joel Grind: Fatal Planet 7″ (red/black split, ltd.138) –still available
Crypt Trip: Mabon Songs 7″ (translucent blue, ltd. 113) -still available

I don’t even have words to describe how much I appreciate this.. My humble thanks goes to Poisoned Mind, I’m totally astounded. Really love that Night Runner album, missed it in the first place because I literary slept over it and was so damn pissed off to myself. Brilliant 80s synthwave Album! Joel Grind’s (guy is better known by his Thrash Metal band, Toxic Holocaust) seven-inch is also filled with 80s synhtwave sounds (this has been on my wantlist since the day it was released). Last but not least, Crypt Trip. My history with Poisoned Mind Records started with Crypt Trip’s same titled boxset that came via Poisoned Mind two & half years ago. It’s awesome to hear some new stuff from this doomed psych/stoner group! And yet again, Thanks! I’m honored to receive all these recordings, this meaans lot to me.

Mika Vainio / Kouhei Matsunaga: split 12″ (handscreened cover)

vainioOX

Some might wonder where this alias (mugwumb) I’m using comes from.. Mika Vainio released album called “Olento” back in 1996 using one of his best know aliases, Ø. Seventh track on that album is called “Mugwumb”. For those who does not know, Vainio was one half of Pan Sonic (formerly know as Panasonic) with Ilpo Väisänen. This duo shaped my opinion of electronic music totally with their first full-length “Vakio”. Listened that album about thousand times during my time in army back then. Anyways, still love to listen experimental electronic music, thanks to Vainio & Väisänen. I found this record some time ago from Discogs and I had to purchase it because it was nearly half free. I’m unqualified to say anything about these recordings, I just have to get them all. This one is released by Important Records and this special handscreened version is limited to 25 copies. There are also more regular versions (on black vinyl & green vinyl) floating around and maybe the best way to get your hands on these is Discogs / Ebay.
