Here Lies Man: Ritual Divination LP +7″ (clear, orange, yellow, red melt)

here lies man

I just couldn’t skip this latest album from Here Lies Man. I have their first two records and I’ve always been excited about their way of making music. This band is so unique, their way of combining psychedelic rock, afrobeat and stoner is a great idea. Some might say that all their records sound the same .. but so do all of Volbeat’s albums, and that band isn’t my favorite, Here Lies Man is. Still available from Riding Easy Records and european customers can easily purchase this one via Kozmik Artifactz.

Electric Hydra: Electric Hydra LP (white with orange swirl)

Electric hydra

Yet another great record & band, surprisingly from Sweden. Electric Hydra with their hard rocking self-titled debut album. Throughout years I have been wondering how come it’s possible that there comes so many awesome bands from that particular country, who knows. My journey started with Entombed and here we go again, this time with Electric Hydra. This beauty was released by Majestic Mountain Records (one of those awesome labels you should follow) and you can grab a copy for example from Season of MistSound Pollution, Experience Vinyl & Cosmic Peddler. Go for it!!

Kryptograf: Kryptograf LP (grey marbled)

kryptograf

Even though it took some time to arrive, it’s finally here with me (and I wanna thank Apollon Records for helping out with this one). Norwegian Kryptograf is hitting hard with this debut album. Album filled with soundscapes from late 60`s / 70`s metal & hard rock with some modern doomed touch. Listened this a lot during last summer (in digital format) and ow that I finally have this physical LP, it’s time for another round. Great stuff, still available via Apollon Records (2nd press). Get yours because these wont last long..

Bonehawk: Iron Mountain LP (clear)

bone2

Bonehawk is again one of those bands whose music I have been supposed to get to know for ages and ages. It just happened that I didn’t even get the band’s previous album, Albino Rhino, before this latest one was released. Better late than never. As was the case with that Kitchen Witch record, too many records and so little time. The phenomenally beautiful hard rocking stoner album this surely is and will play on my audio equipment for a long time. Released by Cursed Tongue Records and available (pink-colored version) from the source, Kozmik Artifactz & band’s BandCamp site.

Foot: The Balance of Nature Shifted 2xLP (fire & flood edition)

00_foot

I got this record a few months back and still find this Australian band’s record spinning either in my turntable or digitally in my earphones almost daily. Even though this album is more like a mixture of alternative / prog & little grunge on it, still some stoner vibes can be heard time to time. I really like the atmosphere on this album. One of the best albums I’ve listened to this year. Highly recommended double album and still available for example via Copper Feast Records.

Ball: Like You Are….. I Once Was…Like I Am – You Will Never Be LP (neon pink)

ball

Some filthy, satanic hardrock sounds from Sweden. After listening to first track from this album via BandCamp I knew I have to get this abomination immediately. Got this colored version from Subliminal Sounds (sold out by now) a few weeks ago and listened it daily since that day (mostly via headphones on my way to work & back). Great record and still available (on black wax) for example from Subliminal Sounds, Kozmik Artifactz and BandCamp. Highly Recommended!

The Goners: Good Mourning LP (blue/white with black splatter)

gonersXX

And then some Swedish knowledge… This is the debut album by The Goners (well, we all know that these dudes have been in scene some time but that’s a different story). Garage, hard rock..? Who am I to say what’s the best genre to place this album, main point after all is those tunes engraved in the grooves of this nice looking vinyl release. Rock’n’Roll at it’s best. Available via RidingEasy (US), (EU) and for example from Kozmik Artifactz.

Frayle: 1692 LP (black/gold)

frayleX

Let’s not forget this beautiful & crushing album by Frayle. I first came across with this band last year and those haunting vocals brought me back to this band and their latest full-length. Have to admit that I like the darkness wrapped around this release. I suggest you to check this out if you haven’t already. First pressing seems to be sold out by now but for your information, there’s 2nd pressing available via Lay Bare Recordings (EU) & Aqualamb Records (US).

The Hypnagogics: Endless Nights LP (smokey)

hypnagogicsX

This album by Hypnagogics came out via Majestic Mountain Records earlier this year. Strong hard rocking, stoner album from this Swedish group. Oh, this is also their debut album which is a little hard to believe. Those guitars on this release.. awesome.  Endless Nights is sold out from the source and seems that you have to turn to Discogs / Ebay if you wanna grab a copy which I recommended from the bottom of my heart.

Uubbuurruu: s/t LP

uuuuuubbuuu

Uubbuurruu, quite interesting name for the band. This group is from Montreal, Canada and I love their 70’s sounding hard rocking stoner influenced performance. This band & album is one of those BandCamp treasures I come across occasionally. And I have to admit that cover art had something to do with the listening decision when I came across with this one for the very first time. Great album and you still can get a copy via their BandCamp site if you’re interested.

Pastor: Unveil LP (white)

00pastor

Yeah, one of my favorite albums by far this year. Pastor is mixing some awesome 70’s hard rock influences with stoner/psychedelic. Brilliant record and it has been under the needle nearly everyday since I got my copy. Quality release from Cursed Tongue Records once again. Sold out from the source, but you still can get your hands on regular version via Kozmik Artifactz. Grab a copy while you still can!

Sleepwulf: s/t LP (silver)

sleepwulfX

And then some 70’s influenced love, this time from Cursed Tongue Records. Once again outstanding package but what else can be expected from this label? The Band is Sleepwulf and this seems to be their debut release on vinyl format. Hard-hitting 70’s rock with a hint of doom aside, with this concept you just can’t go wrong. It seems that this sold out quite fast but don’t worry, there’s repress copies available via Cursed Tongue Records and Kozmik Artifactz. Go for it!

Rough Spells: Ruins At Midday LP (pink/purple)

rough spells

Some love from DHU Records & Fuzzed And Buzzed. Here’s one hell of a record from Canadian heavy rocking stoner group, Rough Spells. I’ve known this band for a while now but haven’t actually checked their releases before this came out, what a shame. Really happy I bought this beauty. My loyalty to DHU Records forced me to purchase this DHU exclusive version,  even though there were Fuzzed & Buzzed and Band’s versions available. Sold out from DHU but Fuzzed And Buzzed have all tree variants still available. For EU citizens both record labels variants still available via Kozmik Artifactz (only one copy of each).

The Graviators: The Graviators 2xLP (marbled olive green)

graviators02

Me and my demented mind… I bought this debut album from The Graviators last year (together with their second one, Evil Deeds) via Discogs. Great band, mind-blowing hard rocking stoner, and it’s a shame they do not exist anymore. I have been wondering for years how in hell they are so many outstanding bands coming from Sweden, not that many from Finland. Maybe it’s the Gulf of Bothnia separating us Finns from the rest of civilization leaving us isolated with bands like Nightwish, Sonata Arctica etc.

Sundrifter: Visitations LP (clear)

sundrifter

Yet again one from my million miles long “wantlist”. This time Sundrifter and their space-fuzzed debut full-length (on vinyl) called Visitations. Grabbed this copy via Discogs (thanks to the awesome seller) and it arrived in mint condition. Brilliant album and one thing that bothers me (in the best possible way) are those vocals, reminds me of some artist I just can’t get to my mind. Like I said, great album and I’m thankful I finally managed to include this to my collection. Season of Mist seems to have copies still available (with quite a decent price tag). Recommended one!

Bison Machine: Seas Of Titan LP (clear, white & blue splattered)

bison_maschine002

It took only four years from Bison Machine to release their second album. In this case time itself is irrelevant because here we have a great hard (retro) rocking heavy album. Bought their debut album in 2015 (self-released version) and listened to it a lot during that year, but then years passed by and the record faded into oblivion.. But now it’s time to drag forgotten treasure back into the sunlight, next to the latest one. Seas of Titan still available via Kozmik Artifactz.

Hazemaze: Hymns Of The Damned LP (mint green)

hazemze002

Here’s some 70’s influenced hard rockin’ stoner in your face! The band is from where else than Sweden, I wasn’t even surprised about that fact. This is Hazemaze’s second full-length and after listening to this several times in the row I’m forced to go after their debut one. This is released by mighty Cursed Tongue Records on mint green (sold out) and on orange vinyl. Orange version is still available from the source, CTR and via BandCamp. If you prefer cassette format better, head to the BandCamp site or Stoner Witch Records.

I got my copy with some corner damage on the cover (after treatment by beloved postal delivery), so I encourage myself to ask the label if they had some extra copies of the cover. And they did. Now I got me a pristine copy with a shiny cover. CTR was ready to send the cover without shipping charge but I was more than happy to handle those. An awesome record label, I appreciate!

The Graviators: Evil Deeds LP (orange)

graviatorsy

Better later than ever. The Graviators, I have come across the name of this group a few times but never bothered to check any of their records before. Been following some Facebook groups about stoner & doom and saw Robert Black (a guy behind one of my favorite DIY labels, DHU Records) posting a picture of this album there. After staring that picture a while I thought maybe I should check out this band at last. Damn! It was love at first sight. This album went straight to my Discogs “Wantlist”. Waited months & months for a decent deal and finally, a few weeks ago I managed to purchase this heavy rocking masterpiece! Yeah!!

Lightning Born: Lightning Born LP (splattered)

lightning born

One of those records that I’ve been listening very closely the past couple of weeks. Lightning Born’s debut that arrived with Zed & Shotgun Sawyer from Ripple Music some weeks ago. Bluesy/stoner/hard rock is the field they are playing on. This “Astral Storm” version is still available from the source, Ripple Music. Those EU citizens who want to save some shipping cost can also purchase this album via Ripple’s EU store. I prefer US store… some of you may know why. Ten out of ten to this album for sure.
