Mystic Sons: Curses And Spells LP (gold with black splatter)

mystic sons

Then there’s Mystic Sons, doomed stoner from Switzerland and holy freaking hell I fell in love with this record right from the start. I remember hearing the title track via BandCamp and I knew right away what I have to do. Nice package filled with Curses And Spells and the vinyl itself doesn’t look that bad at all. Really like these vocals on this groovy, fuzzed master piece if I may say so. Check out this release if you haven’t already done it, highly recommended! A few copies still available via BandCamp if you feel this is your thing.

Vokonis: Odyssey LP (yellow with red splatter)

vokonis

Yet again stunning release from Sweden.. Got this latest one by Vokonis a few days ago and it has spent some quality time on my turntable more than once. I’ve known this band for years now but this is actually the first physical release from them that I own. Now I’m just wondering how in hell I have managed to skip all their previous releases? This kinda progressive approach to doom/stoner is more than welcome if I may say. Highly recommended album! Available for example from Kozmik Artifactz Records and from the source, The Sign Records.

Serpentina Satelite: Nothing To Say LP (red)

serpentina

Serpentina Satellite with their second album called “Nothing to Say”. This album was released on vinyl format about 10 years ago and I only recently got this added to my collection. The Serpentina Satellite is from South America, more specifically from Peru. The thing here is all about the fuzzed, psychedelic / space journey and as the name of the album puts it, no vocals. Love this one. Two color variations available, black and red one. If you are after colored one, skip those Discogs sellers and head to Tasty Odds, that’s where I purchased my copy.

Dead Quiet: Truth & Ruin LP (orange/black slatter)

dead quiet

Yet another new acquaintance, this time it is a band from Canada called Dead Quiet, I think this is the band’s third full-length album, and the first that I have listened and I am very satisfied that I bought the album. I got this album a few months ago and only recently I have been able to focus on this particular record. Damn good hard rocking stoner album with some influences from Hard Rock & Heavy Metal mixed with a bit of doom. Awesome record and still available for example via Kozmik Artifactz. Grab a copy while you still can.

Hombrehumano: Crepuscular LP (colored)

hombre

Deserted love from Argentina. Ordered this one along with some other records from Interstellar Smoke Records a few months ago. As I have said before, seems that the stoner/doom genre is quite powerful in South America nowadays. Hombrehumano is hitting hard with their album called Crepuscular, fuzzed desert/stoner/psych rock at it’s best. I was already sold after listening to the first track on this album, Nomada, even though it’s instrumental it’s one of the most beautiful tracks I have heard in a while! Recommended piece of art and still available from the source, Interstellar Smoke Records.

Brunt: Ataraxy LP (cream/green)

brunt

Sometimes it’s just good to sit down and let the sound waves take you somewhere far away .. Brunt succeeds in this with his latest album perfectly. Ataraxy operates somewhere between post-rocking stoner / desert / doomed Instrumental. Missed this album when it was announced by Magic Mustache Records but managed to grab this copy afterwards. Awesome beauty and available via BandCamp.

Slomosa: Slomosa LP (white)

slomosa

I got this debut album from Slomosa a few months ago. This rocking garage/stoner group comes from Norway and has done great job with this groovy/fuzz record. I can distantly here some echoes from 90´s desert rock on this album and it brings a smile to my face. Great start to this band and I look forward to what they will accomplish with their upcoming records, fingers crossed that there will be some. Available for example via Bandcamp & Apollon Records. Check this out!

The Crooked Whispers: Satanic Melodies LP (orange)

the crooked

Ain’t this a some bad-ass release? Surely I can feel how evil oozes from the grooves of this vinyl. This album could be some kind of soundtrack for some obnoxious human-sacrifising cult.. and I like it, a lot. Managed to grab this very limited version just because on the day of release I waited patiently in front of the screen, pressing the F5-button compulsively. Released jointly by Electric Valley Records & Techio Dischi. Available via BandCamp. Recommended!

Electric Hydra: Electric Hydra LP (white with orange swirl)

Electric hydra

Yet another great record & band, surprisingly from Sweden. Electric Hydra with their hard rocking self-titled debut album. Throughout years I have been wondering how come it’s possible that there comes so many awesome bands from that particular country, who knows. My journey started with Entombed and here we go again, this time with Electric Hydra. This beauty was released by Majestic Mountain Records (one of those awesome labels you should follow) and you can grab a copy for example from Season of MistSound Pollution, Experience Vinyl & Cosmic Peddler. Go for it!!

Goblinsmoker: Toad King 12″ (clear with green splatter)

_goblin

Got this abomination from Sludgelord a few weeks ago.. Dirty, evil and heavy as hell. This surely is not the easiest record to listen through. Actually this recording was released a few years ago on cassette version. I missed the tape back then but now I’m happy owner of “Toad King”on most precious format, vinyl. Still available from the source, Sludgelord. Recommended one if you want to let your speakers grind your brains to porridge, like I do!

Fumarole: Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes LP (black marbled transparent green)

fumarole

Some grooving Stoner/doom from Australia in vinyl format. Band follows the name Fumarole and this is their debut album “Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes”. I listened to a few songs through BandCamp and my interest woke up right away. The  purchase decision was obvious. Lately this album has been spinning under the needle almost daily and have to say it’s worth every damn penny I invested. Have to send some love to Interstellar for releasing these kinda records, from bands that deserve to be heard! Still available from the source, Interstellar Smoke Records and I suggest you to purchase a copy while you still can..

Jointhugger: I Am No One LP (clear with black blob)

jointhugger

This one was worth to wait. Jointhugger, from Norway, and their debut album “I Am No One”. This album is raw, crushing and feels like it’s dragging you down below, somewhere where laws of nature forgotten. Dirty stoner / sludge /doom mixed with some psychedelic and with this recipe Jointhugger can’t go wrong. This monster is still available via Interstellar Smoke Records, so grab a copy and let that light fade out from your eyes.

Kryptograf: Kryptograf LP (grey marbled)

kryptograf

Even though it took some time to arrive, it’s finally here with me (and I wanna thank Apollon Records for helping out with this one). Norwegian Kryptograf is hitting hard with this debut album. Album filled with soundscapes from late 60`s / 70`s metal & hard rock with some modern doomed touch. Listened this a lot during last summer (in digital format) and ow that I finally have this physical LP, it’s time for another round. Great stuff, still available via Apollon Records (2nd press). Get yours because these wont last long..

Slow Green Thing: Amygdala LP (clear)

slow2

Slow Green Thing from Germany and their latest release, Amygdala. I’ve been familiar with this band’s name but it took way too long to check out their records, shame on me. A few weeks ago I suddenly listened this one via BandCamp and purchased physical version immediately after first song I heard. Love the slow, groovy heaviness wrapped with almost ethereal vocals. Music like this is meant to listen via headphones with maximum volume. Available from the band via their BandCamp site and I suggest you to check out their other available albums too (I bought their previous album, III, along this one).

Kitchen Witch: Earth and Ether LP (red/orange blob + black splatter)

kitchen000

Here is one of this week’s winners. Because of my working hours, I lately haven’t had that much time to listen to my latest purchases. This latest from Kitchen Witch (as well as other recent additions to my collection) has been gathering dust while waiting to have some quality time under the needle. The mistake has been corrected and I’m in love with this Australian band. Groovy, bluesy stoner/desert rock combined with beautiful vocals. Highly recommended one and still available from the source, Kozmik Artifactz.

Lightsabres: Darkness On My Trail LP (white/black)

lightsabres

Lightsabres will never let you down. This is the sixth full-length from John Strömshed aka Lightsabres that I managed to include in my collection. From the very first full-length, Demons, I have bought all new albums without hearing a single note beforehand from those albums. Yeah, Lightsabres is that good. With mixing grunge, stoner, punk and psychedelic is a concept that can’t go wrong. Check out this one, and all his previous releases and you know what I’m trying to say. Released by DHU Records (one of my favorite record labels if you haven’t noticed..) and still available from the source & artist himself. Love & respect!

Foot: The Balance of Nature Shifted 2xLP (fire & flood edition)

00_foot

I got this record a few months back and still find this Australian band’s record spinning either in my turntable or digitally in my earphones almost daily. Even though this album is more like a mixture of alternative / prog & little grunge on it, still some stoner vibes can be heard time to time. I really like the atmosphere on this album. One of the best albums I’ve listened to this year. Highly recommended double album and still available for example via Copper Feast Records.

River Cult: Chilling Effect LP (clear)

river cult

This is one of those BandCamp discoveries that occasionally pops into my eyes. River Cult and their second full-length album called Chilling Effect. I ordered this from Kozmik Artifactz along with some other titles a month or two ago. I really like this album, how it mixes alternative / psychedelic with some stoner rock. A timeless album that will spin on my turntable for a long time to come. Check out this one. Available via Nasoni & Kozmik.

Sibyl: The Magic Isn’t Real 12″ (blue)

sibyl000

Woah! Just listen to those vocals on this twelve-inch record and you’ll understand why I have purchased this beauty. Strong psychedelic vibes on this doomed release by the band I haven’t heard of before, Sibyl . This release has been on heavy rotation lately and the only minus about this release is that it’s way too short. I want more! Thanks to DHU Records for introducing Sibyl and most of all, releasing “The Magic Isn’t Real” on vinyl. Still available from the source, DHU Records.

Son Of A Witch: Commanded by Cosmic Forces LP +CD (gold/black)

sonof

This is one of those albums that I have been waiting for quite some time and finally Kozmik Artifactz brought it to daylight. In 2016, I fell in love with the band’s debut album “Thrones In The Sky” and I think it took an unacceptably long time, four years, from this Brazilian band to put out new material. Time to ventilate the ear canals with this crushing beauty. Still available from the source, Kozmik Atifactz.
